Blueshift Consulting was part of the specialist advisory team supporting a UAE Aquaculture Project. The project focused on assessing the strategic, technical and commercial foundations for the development of a large-scale aquaculture-produced seafood supply chain capable of increasing domestic seafood production, strengthening food security, and supporting long-term sector growth in the UAE.

The assignment considered how an integrated aquaculture platform could be developed across production, processing, sales and marketing, with attention to the enabling conditions required for successful implementation at scale. This included analysis of key success factors such as water, land, species selection, feed, energy, labour, market access, processing, supply-chain capability, investment attractiveness and broader industry support settings. The assignment also involved international benchmarking, strategic and scenario analysis, and a review of alternative development pathways to identify practical, commercially credible options for implementation.

As part of the broader advisory team, Blueshift contributed specialist aquaculture, technical and operational expertise. The assignment drew on multidisciplinary capability spanning aquaculture development, seafood markets, post-harvest systems, strategy and finance, enabling a front-to-back assessment of the opportunity from primary production through to downstream market delivery. The project also included species selection and production-system options, phased rollout pathways, integrated value-chain design, international partnership models and high-level financial modelling.
